Joining

Oysterhaven team buildingWe know first days can be daunting, so before you even start the programme we will connect you with a Graduate Buddy. Your Buddy will be a current or recent participant on the programme and will provide guidance and support on what to expect when you start. They will also be a familiar face when you start in the business.

Your first week will be spent getting to know your colleagues on the programme on customised induction programme. During the induction you will meet members of the senior management team and get an insight into key functions across the Group. You will also participate in team-building activities off-site where you will build firm friendships with your graduate colleagues. From the second week you will move to your divisional location where you will receive an induction programme specific to your role and the division.

Developing

ICON-thumbs-upOn-the-job – You learn best by doing. This is why our graduate programme has a strong focus on experiential development. From the beginning you will be placed in a role in the business where you will be contributing to the business performance. This experience will be structured and you will have the support of your manager throughout. We know you are learning as you go and we expect you to ask questions. As you grow in knowledge and experience, you will take on more responsibility.

ICON-pen-and-paperIrish Management Institute (IMI) support – Throughout the 2-year programme you will participate in our graduate development programme developed in conjunction with the Irish Management Institute. This consists of 8 core business modules focusing on communications, strategic thinking, project management, etc. in addition to executive coaching and senior guest speakers from across the business who will share their career advice with you.

ICON-lightbulbGraduate Project – In your second year you will work on a team project set by the business and will present your findings to the Group CEO and managing directors. These projects will be strategically aligned and deliver real benefits to our business.

ICON-folderRotations – Depending on the graduate stream, you will be required to rotate across divisions to gain experience in your function in different markets and brands. Rotations can be a combination of any of the divisional headquarters in Cork, Dublin and Belfast. You may also be required to work in the stores of our retail partners as part of the development programme.
